Entry 14 · Communication

I’m learning not to make people guess

Expecting someone to understand an unspoken need can turn a small issue into a much bigger one.

I have definitely had moments where I thought something should have been obvious. Then I realized I had never actually said what I wanted.

People can be thoughtful without being mind readers. A good partner can pay attention, but clear communication still matters.

I am trying to replace hints with actual sentences: this bothered me, I need reassurance, I would like more time together, or I need some space.

It feels vulnerable, but it also gives the other person a fair chance to understand me.
